Laverty returned to the Cheshire circuit with hopes of replicating his podium success seen here earlier in the year. Being inside the top ten in all of the free practices sessions secured him a place in the final qualifying session. Keen to take the illustrious front row, John was pushing hard but unfortunately took the front at Knickerbrook corner on the 2nd lap of the session. With the three race format, technicians had just two hours to re-build the
bike before the first race where John took a strong 9th place. Race two was undoubtedly the most dramatic of 2010 with countless incidents occurring before the red-flags were brought out followed by a seven lap sprint race where John finished
6th. The final Superbike race of 2010 really was fought down to the wire; Stuart Easton’s early departure from the race meant John needed just eight points to finish 8th place
in the championship. After fighting off Chris Walker to the very end John crossed the line in 8th place securing the all-important 8th place in the series; a strong finish to a great season.
Adam Jenkinson returned to his home event after missing the Silverstone races with injuries. Despite struggling in qualifying with only 21st place, Adam really did save his best until last, an 18th place in race one was followed by two excellent rides taking 10th place in race two and 12th place in race
three. This was a fantastic end to Adams first Superbike season, where he finished 17th in the overall standings.
In Superstock it was an action packed weekend for Lee Jackson and Barry Burrell as they contested the postponed Silverstone race on Saturday afternoon. Using the Silverstone grid positions Barry started 8th and finished 8th setting some ultra-fast lap times along the way.
Lee Jackson started 28th and put in his ride of the year taking 14th place at the finish.
On Sunday Lee and Barry started 15th and 16th respectively; a great start from Barry saw him up to p12 on the first lap before battling his way up to 8th place and securing 7th in the overall series. Lee took a strong
12th place to end the season on a high note for both riders.
